Donate a little or a lot. Our goal is to reach $500,000., the amount foundations are advised to have on hand before starting to fund projects. We will not wait, the need is too urgent. But the quicker we get there, the more responsive we will be able to be.

I have never heard of a foundation needing money to secure donations. Can you explain.
Hello Audrey, and thank you for your question. LWD is not a foundation. Foundations are funding bodies established by wealthy individuals or organizations in order to grant money to projects that they find worthy. IF someone gave us a million dollars because they read our “About Us” page and agree with what we’re trying to do, then we could begin to think about becoming a foundation.
(Read that page here: https://living-with-dignity.ca/home/about-us). But until then, we are simply a non-profit organization trying to explain to the world at large why we are deeply worried about the dangerous path that Canada seems hell-bent on travelling: offering a “medical” solution (MAiD, aka assisted suicide) to the big social problems created by keeping disabled people — a population that is already recognized in law as being vulnerable to discriminatory treatment — by keeping disabled people poor and dependent on a system that seems not to care about them, respect them or value them as human beings.
I hope this answers your question. If not, feel free to rephrase it and I’ll try again!
